  Chiyomaru is always on alert, especially during work and out in public spaces. Anyone can be a foe behind a mask, therefore he feels it necessary to stay on alert yet wear a smile that allows him to communicate with everyone. Once he feels that you are no longer a threat, he relaxes around you and becomes a guy whom will talk with you a lot. He'll make conversations with you, even invite you out for lunch. As the only son of his family, he's been taught to pacify anything if needed to; although he has been taught that, he has yet to know what words are needed to be used.

  Like the saying "lone wolf", he's been seen as an independent person. He does not rely on anybody, but only does so when he feels more comfortable around you. This also includes his inability to show his true feelings; this may include how he behaves when he's working as a bartender, and when he's hanging around his friends, he prefers not to give his opinion about touchy topics.
  
  
• Negative: Abrupt || unempathetic || insecurity
  
  There are times where he will be abrupt for a minor/major reason (ie: stop for no reason, run, say something out of the ordinary, flick/poke you). There is no real reason for that, but it usually revolves around boredom and danger. Growing up and having made a few close friends after graduation, he has not grown to learn about empathy; empathy is such a foreign topic to him, and he can't quite imagine him in "someone else's shoes". Chiyomaru grew up in a neighborhood where the children would question his looks, asking why he looked like a wolf because of his golden yellow eyes and his fluffy ears (he couldn't fully shape shift when he was little). Soon afterwards they moved to a different neighborhood, and he spent his childhood and middle school learning how to shape shift better. He tries his best to fit into the modern world, but the insecurity of knowing that someone wants to know his real identity makes him feel anxiety (he will open up to you once he gets to know you).

Room: Born in a traditional family, he has grown up to sleep on futons with tatami flooring. On one corner of his room lies his futon, all neatly folded and stacked to create room (even though his room is large enough for 2 people). On the center of his room rests a rectangular coffee table, and occasionally a kotatsu during the winter (which is now currently flipped to it's side and laid against the wall). He has a desk with an armed chair on another corner of his room, but he rarely uses it. 
Reason for stay: There is really no particular reason for his stay other than money--- however, he is interested to see how humans and yokai interact with each other in this inn, thus the reason why he's also working as a bartender (which allows him to oversee things from behind the counter). He's also a bartender because he wants to get rid of his insecurity.

Summary: an accident happened during middle school --> moved from Kyoto to Osaka --> graduated and got a high school diploma --> went to taverns and made friends --> his friend taught him how to make drinks for the next 3 years and worked as a bartender --> resigned to Watari Inn (will create a more detailed background in the future)
